Instrumentarium......

On April 7th, 1998 Instrumentarium Corporation announced that it had
completed the acquisition of Ohmeda's Medical Systems and Specialty Products divisions and gained the exclusive global rights to the Ohmeda name.

Instrumentarium instrumentarium.com is a public Finnish company with shares listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange and American Depository Receipts (ADRs) on the NASDAQ National Market System (INMRY). It has a prestigious 98-year history in health care and medical technology.

Instrumentarium combined Datex-Engstrom, its largest division, with Ohmeda's Medical Systems Division to form a new entity, to be known as Datex-Ohmeda.

Datex-Ohmeda datex-ohmeda.com offers customers a significantly broader range of products than either company individually and can combine both organizations' efforts in continuous product development.

The new sales and service network will be extensive, and operational improvements made it possible to offer customers improved value in products and services. The new entity employs approximately 3,850 employees, compared to 1,200 employed by Datex-Engstrom alone. datex-ohmeda.com

-Anesthesia and Critical Care Equipment,
-Medical Equipment and Supplies, and
-Optical Retail.

The company's current largest division Datex-Ohmeda specializes in products and services designed to facilitate better and more efficient patient care and management and is the world's largest supplier of anesthesia monitors. Other Instrumentarium units specialize in niche healthcare markets or distribution of healthcare products. They include:

-Imaging: manufactures and markets diagnostic imaging equipment for dental, mammography and surgical imaging.

-Merivaara: manufactures and markets medical furniture such as hospital beds and operating tables

-Instrumed: distributes medical and laboratory equipment and supplies in Finland.

- Medko Medical: special project sales, and LM-Dental: manufactures and markets dental hand instruments and accessories.
