I once told someone on this thread that if I tested a G* phone and it sucked, I would sell my Loral shares, go short, and then make my feelings known here. Well, I have good news. After receiving my first G* phone call, there is not a chance in hell I would be short. Exceptional clarity. I literally had to be told where the call was coming from. I would have guessed it was someone's living room. No delay, no warble, no odd Iridium distortions, just pure voice. This is landline quality. Now, when the single sat was going out of view, I did hear a few seconds of a robot-like voice before the call was terminated. In a twist of fate, the phone rang immediately and it was a friend on an AT&T wireless Nokia phone. There is no comparison. The G* phone was literally leaps ahead in voice quality. I will be charged with being biased, but everyone will be able to compare soon enough. I have now had three Iridium calls, and they are not even in the same category of communication devices. Biased yes, and rightly so.
