We totally agree on spending - including defense. I am DAMN tired of trying to force the world to be something it does not want to be. We are broke and living on printing press money and credit cards. Someone needs to realize that.

There are two key things about the bursting of the internet bubble. First, it did lead to a recession and since it happened on Clinton's watch - it is his. The left taught us that lesson. Anything bad that happened when Bush was president was his responsibility. Ergo - the rules need to be applied to the goose and the gander. Second, that recession ended all the crap about years of surpluses and a disappearing debt(that one is one the greatest political lies in history). BTW - do you know that in no year of Clinton's presidency did the national debt go down?

Second - the tax cuts did mitigate the recession. That said, in retrospect - no policy should be implemented that is not honestly paid for - including tax cuts.

Just think, everyone is now delighted that our deficits are down to the worst level of the Bush years.
