Pentiums boards and softwindows have been around a long time--no news there. Apple is in the process of redefining its entire OS strategy.

Kids only machines? What do you think those kids will be loyal to when they grow up? It's what they will be familiar with.

Apple will have to do something radical to be a viable competitor. If it means consorting with the enemy, it may. If it means buying a company like Be, it may. Hopefully, we will have some answer by MacWorld in January. Otherwise, puts may be in order.
