J.D. Edwards' Hosted Collaborative Commerce Solutions Selected To Power LumiLeds

Global, High-Tech Lighting Company Chooses JDe.sourcing to Host Business Critical IT Requirements

DENVER, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- J.D. Edwards & Company (Nasdaq: JDEC), a leading provider of agile, collaborative solutions for the Internet economy, today announced that LumiLeds, a developer of solid-state lighting solutions in the automotive lighting, traffic signaling, signage, and lighting markets, has selected the company's hosted JDe.sourcing offering to provide business critical enterprise software requirements globally. LumiLeds, a joint venture between Agilent Technologies and Philips Lighting, manufactures next generation lighting products. The company has selected JDe.sourcing to provide the financial, manufacturing, and distribution applications that help make the tightly integrated global operations of the company run reliably, for a high return on investment in the company's technology infrastructure. This is the most significant global hosting contract to date for JDe.sourcing in the fast-growing ASP industry.

"LumiLeds Lighting is developing products, with the combined lighting expertise of Philips and the LED technology strength of Agilent, that will deliver unprecedented quality and value to lighting solutions of all kinds. To grow our company to the next level, we need to install an information technology backbone that will keep pace with our aggressive, globe-spanning operations. Hosting with JDe.sourcing was a clear choice for us, to ensure system stability, scalability and to speed implementation time," said Terrie Brown, project manager at LumiLeds.

A spin-off of two industry-leading ventures, LumiLeds began operations with a largely borrowed technology infrastructure. Choosing JDe.sourcing to provide a unique network and enterprise applications provides the company with a high level of security and stability, and will enable LumiLeds to continue a rapid global expansion. JDe.sourcing will provide a worldwide technology infrastructure for the company, allowing internal resources to be aimed at fostering the most effective development environment to bring next generation lighting products to market.

"We launched JDe.sourcing this year to provide market-leading flexibility and reliability in hosted technology systems," said Gayle Sheppard, vice president of JDe.sourcing for J.D. Edwards. "Our work with an organization as innovative as LumiLeds demonstrates our strength as a leader in delivering business critical technology solutions, and in developing strategic partnerships with our customers to ensure that they gain maximum competitive advantage from their IT infrastructure."
