You will find different answers regarding buying LEAPS and options in your IRA. My IRA will only allow me to write covered calls. I wouldn't THINK of writing covered calls on Dell. The risk of missing out on upside is too risky for me!!!! Good luck & Welcome to the Thread. LEAPS are quite popular among those that are on this Thread. You will notice that every time Dell makes a nice run that someone (usually that you've never seen or read before) will come on here and talk about "how it can't last". Until Dell gives us a warning (which they haven't) or they miss their earnings numbers, I will be content to ride this horse for a long time. I understand they now post the analyst earnings estimates on their web page for all to see. Boy, talk about confidence!
