Wed 20 Feb 2002 News Release
Mr. Gary Allen reports
FUEL CELL TECHNOLOGIES LTD. ANNOUNCES DISTRIBUTION ...
Fuel Cell Technologies has signed a letter of understanding with Border
States Electric Supply (BSE) to promote and distribute the FCT
five-kilowatt SOFC power system to customers in 15 of the United States.
Under this arrangement, BSE will market, sell and distribute only FCT's
product line of one- to 50-kilowatt SOFC power systems. BSE wholesales
electrical equipment, generators, cable and electrical maintenance supplies
to electric cooperatives, utilities, municipalities, hospitals,
universities, developers and industrial companies. Included in this
broad-based territory are also many hundreds of thousands of residences and
small commercial outlets. BSE services much of the electric co-operative
network that supplies electricity to 11 per cent of United States consumers
in 83 per cent of the counties in the United States.
BSE will exhibit FCT's mockup of the FCT five-kilowatt SOFC power system at
the Third Annual Touchstone Energy New and Emerging Technologies
Conference, Feb. 20 through Feb. 22 in Tucson, Ariz. More than 500
delegates are expected to visit the conference. The conference is designed
to inform electric co-operatives, their key commercial and industrial
customers, and energy managers from leading companies, of the technologies
in the energy marketplace. BSE is well suited to market FCT's product in
this environment. The FCT five-kilowatt SOFC power system represented at
the Tucson conference will provide a mid-sized home with electricity, hot
water and space heat. "This week's conference in Tucson marks the start of
a very exciting working relationship between FCT and BSE that will advance
the commercialization of FCT's SOFC products," says Gary Allen, director of
sales for FCT.
