I too have comcast service for internet, tv and phone. I contacted the representative and said I was anticipating switching to Verizon service for $50 less. After some hemining and hawing they agreed to match the price and installed a catv box to allow better coverage. This will be a savings of about $500 per year with a year guarantee on the price.
The problem I have is that with the new system I am unable to program my DVD and record programs I may like. I called the Comcast rep and they finally explained that it was not possible to record dvd unless I ordered another cable box that is similar to Tivo. Cost an additional $7 per month. Has anyone had similar experience and solution?
Suggest everyone contact Comcast for price reduction as in my area they are a monoply.
