I had previously posted that the ISR report saying that CSRV
had lost over a million customers was suspect. Here is CSRV's
reply. Of course, for AOL this provides for a larger customer
base on which they can incur further losses.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- CompuServe Corp. (Nasdaq:CSRV) today said the October 24 issue of Interactive Services Report substantially under-reported the company's worldwide base of direct and licensed subscribers.

By inadvertently omitting approximately 1.2 million CompuServe subscribers in Europe and other international markets, the weekly newsletter mistakenly reported that CompuServe's worldwide
base declined 23 percent to 4,137,000. CompuServe reiterated that its worldwide base stood at 5,341,000 at the close of its most recently reported quarter ended July 31, 1997. This total was essentially flat with the figure of 5,373,000 reported for the prior quarter.

''Interactive Services Report officials told us they plan to include a correction in their November 7 issue. We wanted to correct the public record before then,'' said CompuServe spokesperson Steve Conway.
