When I saw McCain's gaffe, it just made me see how vulnerable he is to manipulation by forces nimbler and more clever than he is.

A comment very interesting. Recall the moment when Bush failed to recall a mistake he had made. Compare that against the ready acceptance of McCain that he was not PC. II will agree that McCain has yet to display a good sense of PC as opposed to saying what is on the tip of his tongue causing him to be labeled as "Mr. Temper" by his own colleagues. But here is a voter choice: Do they want as their President a person they can readily read or someone whom they have to keep guessing.

I am impressed with the frugality of his campaign. his repudiation of the extreme right with whom he has had no relationship with unlike that of Obama and his pastor. However McCain has still to articulate his broad view of economic solution and ending the Iraq war, whose success I believe can be defined in terms of winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people which remains elusive as evidenced by their failure to reach a political reconciliation amongst themselves.
