We could ALWAYS do more, but sometimes it would be at the expense of having a life of our own. Some people choose to give up their personal lives to save other people- i don't see that as better or worse, it is simply a choice of how you want to live.

You had a young family, with huge burdens upon you, and imo it was very nice of you to have him stay with you. For a young man the peer group is always going to have more impact than "family"- and the biggest impact family could have was made when he was a child.

None of us goes out seeking to do less than the best we can. I think it makes us better people that we evaluate what we have done- but we all do what we are able. I know you did, I am sure your brother-in-law did, and I am sure your nephew did.
