Andy: IMHO I think Informix is doing a much better job of creating/retaining mindshare than Oracle. For a lot of complex apps on Wall St (which is an early adopter sector in IT technology - have you read "Crossing the Chasm") a time series datablade is a godsend. All Oracle can do is posture about what they will deliver. Reminds me of the old joke about the IBM salesman telling his date how good it was going to be. What we do not know is what is the quality of the Informix Universal Server and how well the new features are implemented. Fun times don't you think?
