Expanded B2B Solution Set for Digital Marketplaces
J.D. Edwards' solution set for digital marketplaces, based on its Freedom to Choose strategy, includes:
-- Web-enabled Collaborative Commerce Solution - Microsoft(R) will
provide the tools necessary for J.D. Edwards' customers to access its
trading exchange solutions, by allowing OneWorld XPI and Microsoft
BizTalk Server 2000(TM) to communicate seamlessly thus automating B2B
processes. Building on the success Microsoft and J.D. Edwards have
realized with OneWorld(TM) on the Microsoft platform, the two
companies are extending their relationship to break down traditional
communication barriers on the Internet that result from transacting
business through disparate technology systems, and to provide powerful
collaborative commerce solutions to customers.
-- Advanced, Collaborative eHubs - Atlas Commerce and J.D. Edwards are in
a proposed partnership in which Atlas Commerce's Metaprise software
will be offered as J.D. Edwards' trading exchange platform solution.
Together with J.D. Edwards' leading fulfillment and supply chain
applications, the combined solutions will help organizations build
advanced, collaborative eHubs that provide trading communities the
capability to execute all aspects of B2B e-commerce.
-- B2B in a Box - J.D. Edwards, Sun and iPlanet are working together to
deliver a complete, flexible, open solution that will enable
marketplaces to go-live in 90-days. The solution will combine the
strength of iPlanet's Market Maker platform with Sun's scaleable
servers and J.D. Edwards' fulfillment and supply chain capabilities.
-- Complete C-Commerce Solution for Net Markets - J.D. Edwards and IBM
are in a proposed partnership that will allow J.D. Edwards to resell
IBM's WebSphere Commerce Suite, Marketplace Edition, in addition to
its current reseller agreement with WebSphere Commerce Suite. This
strategic global agreement would extend and enhance J.D. Edwards
Active Marketplace offering, a key component of J.D. Edward
ActivEra(TM) Solutions.
-- Digital Marketplace Platform Solutions - J.D. Edwards is licensed to
resell the TRADEX Commerce Center(TM) platform in the US to customers,
helping them establish business-to-business trading communities. The
TRADEX marketplace platform is specifically designed to meet the
demands of high-volume, multi-buyer/multi-seller trading communities.
The open architecture of the TRADEX platform provides a level of
marketplace flexibility and scalability that ideally complements J.D.
Edwards' solutions.
OneWorld Xe Delivers Inter-enterprise Collaboration
The latest release of OneWorld, OneWorld Xe (extended enterprise) provides the flexible architecture, pre-integrated applications and interoperability exchange operators need to deploy these best-of-breed solutions within their organizations and out to the buyers and sellers in the trading community. Extended Process Integration (XPI) is the technology behind OneWorld Xe's interoperability, giving customers the power to collaborate using multiple extended applications that are shared among numerous enterprises. XPI allows disparate technologies within an organization to effectively work together using functionality acquired through J.D. Edwards' new agreement with e-business infrastructure provider Active Software, Inc (see related news release, June 20). In order to provide multi-enterprise collaboration among vendors, partners and suppliers, J.D. Edwards will embed Netfish's XML-enabled processes and technology (see related news release, June 20).
