I think the JFK conspiracists are a different breed, and you are right. i never convinced anyone we really did walk on the moon who was convinced it was a hoax. considering the clear hatred and the FBI files, etc, on MLK Jr, there are reasons to consider, and that other civil rights leaders were killed. i think, like AIDS, that is another category... a doubt born of past experience and spoken wishes (ala that post you've reposted re SF). but you are right that there are many who simply fall into a 'it is all conspiracy' thought irregardless. that's when they step from the bounds of rational consideration, which might have stopped Tuskeegee, and step into silly realms. i do very much think that by the year that rev wright gave that sermon on AIDS that he should have known better... tho... no one still knows how it started. or why. but i think is dangerous and wrong to preach something as a fact that is not proven. that does cast someone in the lot of conspiracist mongers rather than rational thinkers. and... even them religious people should and can be rational on certain subjects.
