hmaly,

To clarify my position in the face of your hypothetical situation above I would like to add that an earthquake is not a failing. Management is responsible for failings, the earthquake itself wouldn't be AMD's fault but if there was any dissatisfaction whatsoever over AMD's reaction to or preparedness for the earthquake then it would not cut muster for Jerry to explain poor results by getting on some press conference and pouting "yeah but it was the earthquake, it was an act of god... it was god's fault not mine".

We can debate whether the Duron launch could have been better. I think it could've you think it couldn't have but if we assume for the sake of argument that it could've then that is indeed AMD management's fault.

Regards,

Epinephrine
