To all, more material to chat about PICK: Some information here might new to some of you guys. ( I can not guarantee the information be factual, according to the Company it is.) Long Distance Telephone Services Because of the attractive rates the Company can offer customers to Africa, the Middle East and Asia, many first and second tier carriers have expressed strong interest in purchasing from the Company. The company anticipates signing agreements with between 30 and 40 of these carriers within the next 3 months. Prepaid Telephone Calling-cards According to a research firm, this market represented $2.1 billion in sales in 1996 and will grow to 4.3 billion in 2001. PICK has been selling prepaid cards since 1993. In February 1998, PICK entered in a 2 year agreement with a major distributor who agreed to pay, after a 3 months period, a minimum of face value of a substantial amount per month from the Company. HIGH SPEED INTERNET SERVICES PICK has obtained the rights to market a satellite-based, high speed-internet service in the Americas. I am not sure whether the system is operational, under construction or still on paper. MAJOR ADVANTAGES: Thanks to the satellite technology, areas of the Americas with limited telecommunications infrastructure can get Internet access as well as cable television. High-speed transmission of data: 10 to 20 times faster than actual downloads. Which I like in this Company is the way all activities can interact to each other. They also own a license for a patented prepaid cellular technology which utilizes an internal, tamper-proof chip. More news this week.
