In fact, in 1984 Reagan won the greatest electoral landslide in US history by winning 49 states. Sorry. Reagan squeeked by in the popular vote. Clinton's mandate is much bigger, as he had a wider margin of the popular vote. The electoral college is a winner take all system and it doesn't mean shit.
