The only effect that the current higher DMT moderm prices have is that the phone companys will have to pay a little more for the privilege to test DMT modems now. Therefore they tend to begin to test with Westell CAP modems and add DMT modems in a later stage. In a few months the high performance low cost Copper Gold Amati DMT chipset from Motorola will be availabe and the current cost considerations wil be moot. I think few people are ready to pay the current modem prices if they can get better products for a small fraction of todays prices in just a few months. Andreas
