Kerry still thinks being Commander-in-chief is the same as being captain of a PT Swift boat for 4 months in Vietnam or being part of the Yanqui delegation to validate the credibility of Daniel Ortega and his junta in Nicaragua before an election or being part of the committee to gut the budget of the military that just won a Cold War that he never understood much less supported or leading the committee to give up all our leverage after winning the Cold War in order to callously consign our missing Vietnam POWs to the dustbin of history and allow his relatives to win an exclusive real estate contract in Vietnam.

Does he really think that the respect of enlisted men and officers that he once falsely accused of war crimes is an entitlement that automatically comes with the position of commander-in-chief?

February 13, 1970 -- Candidate Kerry tells the Harvard Crimson, "I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations," and that he wants "to almost eliminate CIA activity."

April 10, 2004 -- . . .Kerry has often been accused of shifting positions and splitting hairs on the war. But on one point the senator has never wavered: that the key to long-term stability in Iraq — and more financial and military support from other nations — is to transfer authority for designing a new government from the United States to the United Nations.

Note the same mindless fixation for the UN that Kerry had at age 28 and at age 60! This is the same UN that the Iraqi people know fully well collaborated with the Saddam Hussein regime in corrupting the humanitarian food-for-oil program. This is the same UN that barely left skid marks when it scrambled out of Iraq and Kosovo at the first sign of serious trouble.

It seems that everybody but Kerry knows that the UN can easily be intimidated and is essentially impotent in Iraq without US economic, political and military power behind it. Yet amazingly, Kerry still wants us to add more ‘allies’ to what he has derisively called the coalition of the coerced and the bribed.
