If I may bud in......to answer your question:
First of all, these are easily verifiable facts:
1)No alternative fuel has ever been patented. PURE will be the first.
2)No fuel has ever received the coveted "alternative fuel" designation by the Dpt. of Energy. PURE again will be the first.

The only question is when, not if. Since this is a historical first and is considered critical to national security, I would anticipate a prompt certification by the DOE. Anybody have a crystal ball? :)
