Of course its ludicrous. The 8 hours is what the courts have ruled on. Any firearms that is readily convertible to full auto is in the eyes of the law and the BATF a machine gun, even BEFORE its modified. People go to jail on a regular basis on this one, even more so in the past, especially during the 1990s. In fact, BATF is known to use packing tape to tape torch cut receivers back together and if they can get it to fire just two shots in the lab with a single pull of the trigger, they send somebody to prison for thats right, 10 years.
