George, I would take anything of an editorial nature from any of the guests on CNBC with a large GRAIN of SALT as I have seen so many of the pundits exclamations turn out to be PURE TRIPE! I remember a gal on there about 4 years ago saying that no one should invest in either Charles Schwab or Merrill Lynch as they were going to be available for about half what they were selling for at that time (then about 28 and 35 respectively)... just look back and see how wrong she was! And then there was one of the CNBC regulars that told everyone to get out of Wells Fargo! Well that was when it was selling for about 75. Check out its price today!!! So IOM definitely has a very good chance to turn around, but this will probably take another year or so before we see the prices we saw last fall. And that will depend on the Asian flu effects and Japan's economic restructuring and new developments in the rapidly changing PC field. The new Clik! drive could have a big effect on the price of IOM if it turns out to be a viable alternative to flash memory in small computers and its use as digital camera image storage. Everything is in such a stage of dynamic change, I don't think anyone can say for sure just what the future holds for IOMEGA. They have some very good people in their R & D dept. and I am sure they are not just sitting there and watching the world go by... even without Kim Edwards at the helm. They are the world leader in removable storage and have now settled the Nomai problem by buying controlling interest in the firm (plus new technology), so with super high density HDs as standard items on new PCs, they should be looking at how the Zip and Jaz drives fit into this new set of standards. The USB bus could be a factor later this year... I think. Now that Win 98 supports USB, I believe that IOM will be coming out with Zips and Jaz and maybe Clik! drivesthat take advantage of a new USB cable. This should also make it even easier to add these to the new below $1,000 computers now being pushed by the market.

Short IOM if you wish, but we know that the stock price of IOM can be explosive when factors change in its favor, so be careful. Remember there is no limit what you can lose when you short a stock!
Happy Trading, Mel
