Come to think of it, there is only one name that I would use the "Ignore" button on as well. I am not against the "Ignore" button feature, but I do think that such a button would not be enough to satisfy everyone on the thread. It is not enough to ignore a person. Someone needs to be around to counter a misstatement of fact or muddled line of reasoning. Not for the sake of arguing, but for the benefit of those who are none the wiser such as new arrivals who may be just arriving to the thread to see what people are saying about a particular stock. The new arrivals are the most vulnerable to being "sucked-in" to a particular heckler. It is the new arrivals that we need to foster, bring-along, and encourage so that they will spread the company's story and buy the next few lots of stock - to further the cause and profitability of the company and its thread members. If they are turned-away by the heckler's unchecked claims of fact, then the power of the thread is extremely diminished. If I knew that someone would be around to bring out the truth and direct it to the heckler, I would really enjoy the ignore button. However, if the heckler is allowed to continue unchecked, a real unjustice would be done to the thread. It is contrary to the very point of having a thread! I think that everyone should have the capability to flip a switch (or click a "Expel" button) - which sends a message to the Webmistress that we have a poster who has over-reached the boundaries and needs to be dealt-with, instead of having to write notes and gather support from other members on the thread before maybe getting some satisfaction. It could even be as simple as check box (that the viewer could check) that would register a particular message (or person) as being out-of-line and that would show-up in the screen of the Webmistress. This would be a way to show support (en masse) for expelling a member from a particular thread, assuming that such a feature (surgical removal from a thread without total banishment) could be developed.
