Banco$- Ya got me thinking...and that is very cautionary sometimes. My dad-in-law worked on the Foundry Biz for years...nowhere near Seachlite. He was a sales guy with that old style attitude. I think I will ask him for some of the neat slides he has to get made into pictures of the Bricking Process and the encapsulation of the mold trays with the sand barrier which he used to describe the Malleable Iron and the Gray Iron works locally here to the lower east coast at NY/NJ as the east coast is the old places where the craft was made years ago. In town was a Bench Guy who was one of the last foundry mould makers. It is being a changing artform with all the switchover to computerization. The bricks are firebricks and the heat of the furnace is tremendous! F;lashes of heat and hues from the covered bricks are a great slide show...One of the last nearby foundrys is nearby making rims and manhole covers ( I hear they are custom matched!) and a mile or so from here is that Maleable Iron Place. ( Less breakage uses) I think I will gather some rocks and prospect over there someday some to see if they have any ideas for my ash, yet, when I walk in - I have to be preparred for them to think I am a pain in the ash! Yes, these heat and furnaces are todays mini volcanos that will made these new metals for us. Production is job one. A rate and a financial factor would be nice ...but production first, tweeking second. Wonder if they ever thought of making manhole covers, would be the Mother Of All Tokens ! Or in other Threads cases, the Big Dam Proof Positive why I linked another producer guy...here! Spare Change or what ...Manhole Cover Coins...that is the ticket! Chucashpain
