Regardless of any specifics on bilirubin itself, all babies all over the world are monitored for jaundice. This issue was discussed shortly after approval was received. Search the posts after 7/30/97 and you should find this.

Colormate II: Handheld device designed for the cosmetics, beauty, etc. industries. Should sell for around $150.00

Colormate III: FDA approved medical device for monitoring jaundice in newborns. Pricing will be determined after a distribution agreement is signed with a internationally well-known company.

Again, please take the time do do more research. The answers to all of your questions have been answered previously.
