"Wars are seldom about ideas, they are almost always about recources.

'Always' almost always fails as a argument. Wars are also about social influence, power, control, and real estate. You could probably boil that down to influence and property if you really tried but those two things are inseparable in practical matters. In addition, ideas are woven through the fabric of social life and are impossible to factor out of the rally to war.

Up coming wars are not going to be about national armies lining up with muskets toe to toe or even prescriptive bombing with guided weaponry anyway. We have 100million extra twenty something men on the planet right now. Near our own border we have populations of illegals who have been told they have entitlement and for whom law enforcement has been told to keep hands off, by the powerful traffickers who've infiltrated the government and by our own traditional government...maybe you think that is working out well. OK but in the future look for growing cells of young men who are not loyal to any particular national interest. 100million extra who do not identify with the traditional idea of family and community, let alone nationality, think about it. Then you also have the usual militaristic enemies tapping at the door, wanting to know when you will come out and fight.
