thanks, many valid points on hidden GDP but how could such huge R&D spending not show up as sales for equipment from the vendor side? more spin, basically, methinks "innovation and product design, brand-building, employee training, or any of the other intangible investments required to compete in today's global economy" ok, but Madison Ave promotional stuff shows up on the advertising revenue side training shows up on the service provider, esp if private same goes for all manner of other spending what the author claims is that the buyer doesnt get counted but what about the seller? they are surely counted / jim
