How do you think we should have responded instead? 100% to get bin Laden, forget international borders, forget all treaties. Forget nation building in Afghanistan and Iraq. A singular focus... then move on with life. The world would have supported any kind of swift action in those early days. By declaring the never ending 'war on terror' with all it's implications we gave them more respects, and therefore more influence, than they ever came close to deserving.
