ah, the heck with waiting. i'm running it. about 8+ minutes into a 1gb disk scan, looking at 55 minutes remaining. geez. the test has 3 levels of errors...... soft, firm and hard. so far all sectors okay. i actually anticipate this test turning up some errors. i got that impression from gibson's notes preceding the test. he made it sound like it's ultra-sensitive. he even said that running this prog is good for the disk and the stored data. made me think of defragging and optimizing.

sorry if you've all already been through this info repeatedly. don't mean to ramble. but i would like to hear from anyone who has used "tip".
