I agree the answer was kind of flippant. Pegoraro is a fairly highly respected tech writer but he does get a little careless at times with his answers on his bi-weekly online question and answer gig.

I assumed that what was said about HP/Vista drivers was probably true, partly because my daughter complained about Vista drivers for her old HP printer when she bought a new desktop last year.

Good to see that Vista is treating you right.
