Snowflakes, while amazing things, don't undermine my proposition. Water forming regular latices of closest order packing is a freely occuring exothermic process and is accompanied by an increase in entropy. The maximum entropy state is like a Bose-Einstein condensate where there is only one state available. This is the endgame in the Big Crunch.

Life is the self-organizing behavior of processes that produce order out of disorder (like crystalization) while simultaneously increasing the number of available states (very much unlike crystalization). Therein lies the reversal of entropy and the very nature of the contradiction.

Now if ice crystals were assembling themselves into objects like igloos or snowmen, then I'd agree with you.
