Sorry for the oversight, Arthur.

The year ended 1/27/96 did include a restructuring charge
of $1.03 per share. (The same type of charge was repeated
in 01/97).

Without the charge for closing the stores the table looks like this:

Fiscal year 1st 3 quarters Last Quarter Year

1993 ( 1.48) 1.91 .51

As was pointed out in my last post, per share earnings do not
total due to average number of common and common equivalent.

Hopefully the managers of stores being considered for closure
managed to produce an acceptable profit level and we will have
a year without a restructuring charge.

Those restructuring charges aren't all bad. I am convinced the
large charge for fiscal 1995 drove the price of the stock down
to the $1.50 to $2.00 in February through April 1996.
