This follows a well established pattern, as well. There is nothing the Islamist radicals hate more that examples of peace and comity between Arabs and others, so they will pick the quietest spots to do their killing. This serves several purposes: a) it provides a soft target, b) it creates suspicion where none was before, alienating the two communities, c) if they are really lucky, it will inspire harsh punitive measures as well, driving the Arab community to sympathize more with the radicals (at least some of them, the stupid ones at any rate).

This pattern has been repeated many times in Israel. Many Israelis who commonly spent time with good friends in Arab communities have been shot, not by anyone in the community, but by Fatah or Hamas infiltrators. The Christian communities are particularly vulnerable to this tactic, as well as to outright extortion by Fatah. This is why the Christian population of the West Bank is leaving in droves.
