In fact, that is another area where Texas has one of the worst records in the country. They are #3 in low voter turnout.

Yeah they don't have the big city Democratic machines to get out the vote. As a kid growing up in Philadelphia the polling booth was across the street from where I lived. The Democratic committee man stood on the corner paying off the voters in appreciation for their showing up and voting the ticket.
That's what opened up my eyes many years ago to the Democratic machine. Makes me proud to be a Republican.
