That FACT is they couldn't GET anybody with a real political future: Edwards knew he had to run far, far away from ANY state in the South to try to survive in a Democrat party that has ALREADY become nothing but a regional faction. The real Edwards news of this election is not that he filled the empty VP marker for Kerry, but that he is washed up as a Senator. Hillary (with 1st-rate advice) KNEW better than to TOUCH the doomed Kerry campaign. Lieberman simply can't bring himself to hold his nose around the anti-American sewer rats for the next 4 months. Gore needs time in an asylum before he should even CONSIDER any more embarrassing public appearances. So Kerry was stuck with the throwaways. Gephardt knows he's long over and gone, and is happy to retire. Losing the House permanently in 1994 is what ACTUALLY retired Little Dick. The rest of the DWARFS looked like a field trip from a "special" school...
