Rogers Communication, Inc. and CheckFree to Discuss Back Office Automation in the Retail Industry at 13th Annual TMA Conference

ATLANTA, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- CheckFree (Nasdaq: CKFR - news) today announced that Ralph Thrun, Manager of Continuous Improvement at Rogers Communication, Inc. and CheckFree Regional Sales Manager Mary Beth Eikenberg will address the Treasury Management Association's 13th Annual Windy City Summit, May 19-21 at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. Thrun and Eikenberg will discuss how to analyze reconciliation operations needs to facilitate back office automation.

They will speak from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on May 20 in the hotel's Boulevard A & B. Their presentation will include a discussion on the issues, challenges and benefits inherent in automating reconciliation operations for internal and external accounts, as well as how to ensure successful implementation and management of the system. In addition, the speakers will cover how to effectively manage a partnership with a vendor for successful implementation, specific areas targeted for reconciliation automation, and project planning.

Participants will gain an understanding of the importance of an organization-wide solution versus a departmental solution. They will also come away with specific tools to overcome the challenges involved in reconciliation, including a list of questions to consider for justifying an automated reconciliation solution.

The Windy City Summit Conference is hosted by the Treasury Management Association of Chicago.

Ralph Thrun, Manager of Continuous Improvement, Rogers Communications,

Ralph Thrun is a graduate of Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Ontario

Canada, with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, majoring in
Management Systems and Design. He received his CMA designation from the
Society of Management Accountants of Ontario in 1992. Ralph was with Sears
Canada Inc. for 14 years in a variety of financial management positions. He
is currently with Rogers Communications, Inc. as the Manager of Continuous
Improvement. He is responsible for process improvements within the Finance
Departments at all Rogers group companies. Ralph was a speaker at the
Integral & In-Power Users Conference in San Diego in 1996, as well as the 1998
and 1999 CheckFree User Conferences in San Antonio and San Francisco.
Mary Beth Eikenberg, Sales Manager, CheckFree

Eikenberg currently holds the position of Regional Sales Manager in CheckFree's Financial and Compliance Solutions business unit. Prior to joining CheckFree, Eikenberg spent eight years at a regional bank in Maryland. She held several positions, including Relationship Manager in Corporate Banking where she was responsible for marketing and selling cash management products and underwriting loan facilities to Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States. She also spent several years in Financial Management and Operations. Eikenberg was active in the Philadelphia TMA and was Treasurer during 1994-95. She holds a B.S. degree in Finance with a minor in Music from Towson State University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola College in Baltimore.
