Dave: the 400M is partially to mostly fiction since Apple will also be getting a big loss to carry forward so the net cost to Apple will be near zero. The details of the deal (what happens to Web Objects and so on) are important. The effect on AAPL will probably be positive since this and the other moves may well change the market psychology whether or not it is good for Apple.
