But isn't that the only way you find out - after the market closes? My understanding is that options that are exercised early (usually only happens in the case where they are deep in the money and time premium is negligible) are sent to the cboe, who assigns them by lottery after the market has closed for the day.

StockHawk - I think you should call your broker immediately and find out how they handle it.
