Daw Technologies, Inc. Announces New Contract Additions Totaling Approximately $2.0 Million
SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Daw Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: DAWK) announced today it has been awarded contract additions to an existing cleanroom contract with a customer located in Montreal, Canada for approximately $2.0 million. The customer develops fiber optical products for the telecommunications industry. These contract additions have already commenced and will be completed by October 31, 2000. The scope of the contract additions include additional design, engineering and installation of cleanroom partition systems, filtered ceiling systems, air delivery systems, raised access floor systems, controls, electrical systems, and process piping and vacuum systems. "As the semiconductor and other high-tech industries are beginning to more aggressively expand capital spending budgets for equipment and facilities, Daw Technologies has been able to gain the confidence of our customers by providing turn-key design, engineering and installation of high quality cleanrooms," stated Brent Lundevall, President of the North American cleanroom business unit of Daw Technologies, Inc. Mr. Lundevall went on to say, "Based on the continuing bid activity we have seen in the last two quarters and actual contract awards related to these bids, Daw's prospect for growth is good throughout the remainder of this year and 2001." "We are starting to see new turn-key projects for bid within North America. Since many of our current projects are Design-Build contracts, the award of these contract additions demonstrates the Company's ability to perform in the engineering arena. Since many of our customers are beginning to experience capacity constraints, they are looking for quick, less expensive, and well engineered ways in which to expand their capacity in order to satisfy demand and maintain their market share. With Daw's experience and ability to respond rapidly to our customers needs, we believe the Company has a competitive advantage that will continue to help the Company grow," Mr. Lundevall concluded. Daw Technologies, Inc. provides ultra-clean manufacturing environments for customers throughout the world and specializes in the design, engineering, and installation of cleanroom systems that meet stringent semiconductor manufacturing requirements. The Company also provides contract-manufacturing services on an OEM basis for various customers.
