It is too bad that you have missed the connection between a globally expansive economy and a judiciously deployed military. The Clinton administration mastered it, and American businessmen were welcomed throughout the world. However, today even our strongest allies question our motives. Arrgghh matey, it stinks of a pirate’s buried treasure (or a globally bad-reaction to our military).

I did not think much of Carter; then again, he was a nice guy that tried to give politicians a good name (post-Nixon).
