KasteCo mentioned Homo sapiens - it got stuck in my mind somehow. sapio vs scio - those two verbs stand both for knowing, sapio is in the direction of discerning, weighing, Kantian knowledge and scio in the direction of science - factual kind of knowledge -. OTH I think discens, accipiens - i.e. learning, sponging-it-up - attribute describes us even better. Now I'll shut up, otherwise I wont be able to learn anything from you (g). dj
