In Washington DC there is a motto that is unspoken but true of everyone who lives and works in the city..........protect the Presidency at all costs.

richard Clarke wrote about it in his books. Everyone who works in any administration must be ready to take the wrap for the President.

Powell is guilty fo it among others..............Brown may also have been told to "take the hit".
