Bev,
Something disturbs me. This vacation season seems light; it appears as though travel and tourism is off.

We live in Broomfield Colorado. Above us are the "restored" mining towns of Black Hawk & Central City. A few years ago, limited stakes gaming was passed by voters, and these places became "pass through" destinations. Those that work there say out of state people are off by 50-75%. In south New Mexico (where I have family), they see it off by a greater number. We are near Rocky Mountains National Park,
I see far fewer tourists, lots of 'day tripers'.

What does it look like on the East Coast? Someone said most disposable income in the country is flowing into the stock market. Could this be true?

IF "consumer confidence" is so good, why won't people travel. Is someone in our Govt. "cookin' the books"? Do you see any inflation?
