Steve,

Socket 7 will be prolonged by AMD and IDT, especially IDT which with its C6-L2 will get PII slot type performance by adding 512k L2 cache on board the chip thus eliminating the slow bus of the current socket 7 motherboards.

SLOT 1 does cost more and a lot of motherboard makers especially the foreign ones will love to keep socket 7 as a major standard.

IDT has a great opportunity here, now they need to execute.

Again a great 18 month hold.
