Please, I can tell from the eloquence of your post that you can do better. You didn't even get my blood pressure up. :)

(Correct me if I'm wrong here or were any of his competitors present? Did the Chinese entertain competitive bids from other American co.s?)

Competitive bids for what,? Launching Sats? They launch sats for Loral competitors. Specifically, the next launch after the one that failed was to carry a Hughes bird. (Which is why hughes was on the panel reviewing the investigation results) Additionally, according to Lou Dobbs, Bush OKed 9 launches from China for american companies in his administration-- I doubt they were all Loral (or that any of them came because of Mr. S's contributions to Clinton.)

The Dems practically invented the rhetoric we're hearing today in assassinating their opponents. The Repub.s have a long way to go to catch up to the hyperbole and ad hominem attacks of the Dems

You must be kidding, right? The new level of mudslinging that started in the early eighties and continues to this day was crafted by Republican strategists in congressional elections. This is why they ruled so much in the 80s- the dems didn't sling back (and the public is too stupid to notice they took the high road.)

Here's an example: During the campaign, Bush claimed clinton collaborated with the Russians during the viet nam era, and insinuated he was a communist sympathiser. Can you name a comparable claim made by the democrats during that election?

And if you want to go into Iran-Contra... its pretty much a fact that arms were sold to Iran, and its' been shown that Bush met with Iranian officials, before the 1980 elections to set up the deal in exchange for the release of american hostages. The only reason bush wasn't impeached for this was he pardoned everyone who's potential conviction could be used as leverage to get testimony against bush. The iranians certainly admit it, and have done so on 60 minutes. Combine that with the records obtained domestically, and you have pretty damning evidence.

A whole lot more serious than anything seriously alledged against Clinton.
