Oct 96 - Gulf Power (subs of SO) and ScientificAtlanta are starting the Maingate(tm) system for
meter reading, energy mgmt, remote control of appliances, and thermostat control. Production units will be
shipped in 1q97 w/ full scale rollout in to 40,000 homes. Maingate interfaces w/ Hybrid fiber coax, wireless cable
communication methods.

purchased w/ATX & $13.2 for sale of its San Diego defense business. 95/94 fin stmts restated for disc opers.

New mfg plant in Juarez, Mex is online. Powervu, digital compression sys, has contracts
to provide services to Mexico, Brazil, and Alaska.
