thanks peter. long but definitely worth reading.

i just read a piece in red herring about branding campaigns that succeeded and failed. quokka was on the failed list. maybe they ought to reinvent themselves, their brand i mean. just take a look at fatbrain, a few months ago they were called computer literacy and since the name change they've improved their brand, business has improved, and the stock price has followed. fogdog is another one that comes to mind.

regardless, next year will be a strong one for quokka with the olympics and other sporting events. also, i wouldn't be at all surprised to see espn or someone else jump in and buy them out.
