Thanks for the full explanation of "filling the gap". I have seen you refer to it and SORT OF knew what you meant, but never saw it explained exactly as you did yesterday here. By the way, I usually DO use market orders and have never had a bad fill...never and I make about 20 trades a month. I've had bad fills because the brokerage was slow (compared the time of the fill with my QUOTRECK), but overall market orders have worked well for me and that's as much as 3000 shares at a time. I would suspect that some of the more thinly traded stocks would present a bigger opportunity for market maker ripoffs.
