i have always thought that pos2 had a "me too" valuation on dell's ridiculous valuation. cpq on the other hand is a mess. corporate strategy verbalized in terms of dollars of revenue. bought digital which was always a mess, like a mini ibm with no control structure. now going to market both as a channel stuffer and a direct model (i.e. getting in its own way). have every sort of computer operation going short of big iron. everything to everybody. i think dell is way way way overvalued, but at least they have an understandable biz model.
