Hey Art,

Where can I find out about where the numbers are from? Is there a formal record available? I thought about 1/3 of AOL's member uses more than 5 hours a month according to AOL's IR on 10/07/96 (It's says 2/3 of AOL members uses less than $20 a month) >>

The above figure was stated by Pam McGraw, who is AOL's PR Spokesperson when AOL announced the 20/20 plan, about 6 months ago. The stary is still online at : news.com

It includes this quote:

Although active AOL users will save a considerable amount on their monthly bills, 95 percent of users spend less than their five free hours online, according to a company spokeswoman. The 20/20 Plan is expected to appeal primarily to accounts with multiple users, such as those used by families.

"We're seeing more families signing on to the service," said Pam McGraw, a spokeswoman for AOL. "This gives them more flexibility."
